Hello Necker,

There seems to be a lot of sophistry going around today, or maybe I'm just old enough to see it now. But I appreciate your letter for being an exception to that. You are honest and objective and in my experience these are are rare gifts. For me, trying make my way in the world which i feel i don't understand, your notes are a great clarity. Keep em coming!

Here's to a better year in 2022

I really enjoy your newsletter my friend. It’s remarkably well-written and I have saved all of them for slower reading and digesting. I learn a lot from your writing. Superb work!

You've made remarkable progress already, Frederik, so I hope you take more than a moment to congratulate yourself on what you've created and achieved. Also, I think one of the great lessons I've learned from people like Tom Gayner and Peter Kaufman is the tremendous power of dogged incremental progress sustained over long periods of time -- simply plugging away and trusting that things will work out if we keep putting one foot in front of the other (especially if the goal itself is a worthy one, as yours is). There's something a little grim about the idea of "dogged" progress, though, so I have a post-it in my study at home with the phrase "Joyful Progress" on it. I'm not there yet, by any means, but I'd love to be able to inject more joy and less angst in my own process of writing and sharing ideas! Stay well. Congratulations!

Just as Rob stated in his reply, your authenticity is the surprise factor in every email from you. I do not know what you'll be covering - philosophy, personal, biography or wisdom.. Either ways, you weave your own mental battles within your write ups and thats exactly what I like.. It's real and not camouflaged with technical or literary mumbo jumbo.. Stats show progress, Kudos for that.. and wishing you very very best in 2022 !!!

On your anxieties about "not enough": Don't look at a point in time, look at the vector.

The trend is up and to the right, and accelerating lately. Keep going, it's working! That's what traction looks like!
